This past sunday, Daily Kos (any many other news outlets 1, 2) reported on a “chemical irritant” attack on a mosque in Dayton, Ohio just a few days after a fear-mongering, anti-Muslim documentary was distributed via newspaper inserts and US mail by the shady non-profit “The Clarion Fund”. Now, I don’t know about you, but I am disgusted (yet unfortunately not surprised) that people would respond the way they did to this kind of racist propaganda.

Well, today I received a copy of this hate-speech DVD in the mail (as did my mom) and was ready to set it on fire and get rid of it. But then I thought, why not take a different response to the mailing and just

RETURN TO SENDER

If you are as appalled as me about receiving this in them mail, don’t open the mailing. Tell the Clarion Fund that you won’t be swayed by their hateful and fear-mongering propaganda. Write RETURN TO SENDER on the address area and drop it back in your mailbox. Tell your friends too!

So today I went to Subway for lunch with my friend and as we were leaving I watched as this woman parked her Ford Fusion right across a handicapped spot. What a bitch.

It’s a sad day in Bloomfield Hills. Well, last Friday was a sad day in Bloomfield Hills. The Shell gas station at Woodward and Long Lake closed their doors for good which marks the end of an Era here in the Hills. For those of you who don’t know, Shell (or ETD as it’s known here) has been the go-to place for gas and snacks with friendly staff who care about the community. Unfortunately, with the tumbling economy, the owner could no longer keep the business open and had to make the difficult decision of closing up shop.

Kevin, you will be missed.
