What is Operation Chokehold?

On Friday, December 18, at noon Pacific time, we will attempt to overwhelm the AT&T data network and bring it to its knees. The goal is to have every iPhone user (or as many as we can) turn on a data intensive app and run that app for one solid hour. Send the message to AT&T that we are sick of their substandard network and sick of their abusive comments. The idea is we’ll create a digital flash mob. We’re calling it in Operation Chokehold. Join us and speak truth to power!

I’ve prepared 3 video files that I have tested and can confirm WILL DOWNLOAD over the 3G connection on the iPhone. These are 3 videos from the Lollapalooza concerts in Chicago last year. I figured, might as well eat the bandwidth with something fun to watch too!

Has anyone been having trouble with their Blackberry devices? I’ve been getting these messages for the past few days. I’m on AT&T using a Bold 9000.

Following what I had read about at Blackberry Forums, I figured I should give it a shot on my own. Looks like it wasn’t too god to be true. Visual Voicemail is coming to the Blackberry Bold.

Well now that AT&T services have been successfully restored, its comforting to find that the source of a massive service outage, covering approximately 5 states worth of subscribers, can be traced back to a single power failure in my hometown of Bloomfield, MI. How exciting. For the record, a majority of residents in Bloomfield & the surrounding areas are still without power.
